Who I am
My name is Robert Otte. On every platform I go by Robert Tramp, because Otte turned out to be hard to say and even harder to spell.
I have spent years travelling and living in different countries. Before the Philippines I filmed in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia. These days the Philippines is where I document my life, and most of what I make is about it.

What I make, and why
I make videos about the Philippines, island by island, and I write the useful parts down here.
Every place I get to makes me realise how much of this country I still have not seen. That is the reason I keep going.
What I put on this site is what I have actually been to. When I published my own list of the best places I had stayed in the Philippines, the only ones on it were the ones I had slept in myself and would send a friend to. That is the standard for the guides too.
What I am not: a tour operator, a travel agent, or somebody who has seen all of it.
What this site is, in plain words
This website is mine. It is a place to read what I have seen, and to hear about trips I am planning. It is not a travel agency and it is not a tour operator.
No travel is sold here. This website never takes payment for a trip — not now, and not later. There is no checkout for a trip, no deposit, and no bank or e-wallet account for you to send money to.
If a trip runs, a registered tour operator runs it. You would book with them, pay them directly, and your contract would be with them, under their terms and their insurance. Not with me and not with this website.
Nobody will ever ask you to send money for a trip to a personal account. If someone does that using my name, it is not me. Do not pay it, and please tell me.
The guides here are my honest opinion and not professional advice. Things on the ground change, and faster in some of these places than the internet suggests — check anything that matters with a local source before you rely on it. For safety, health, visas, insurance or money, use an official source for your own country.
