Liloy, Little Siargao: the coast I found in Zamboanga del Norte

Liloy is the coastal town in Zamboanga del Norte that people call Little Siargao: coconut trees, skateboarding, resorts and coffee shops along the sea, about 2.5 to 3.5 hours by car from Dipolog. I went there on day 9 of my trip through the province and posted it on 8 October 2026. I have been to Siargao before, so I was curious what the smaller version was about. Liloy surprised me.

Is it safe to visit?

The Australian government’s Smartraveller advice, updated 24 September 2026, says not to travel to the Zamboanga Peninsula, and Liloy is on that peninsula. Read the current advice before you book, and read the full list of dates and areas on the Mindanao guide.

How do you get to Liloy?

Liloy is 134 km by road from Dipolog, about 2.5 to 3.5 hours by car, according to distancesfrom.com. The Liloy municipal government’s tourism page lists a tourist information centre in front of the Municipal Building.

Why do they call it Little Siargao?

The name comes from BecomingFilipino, also known as Kyle, who started calling Liloy Little Siargao, according to my caption.

After finally seeing it for myself, I understand where the name came from.

Is it like Siargao?

The clip is my own, 28 seconds, hosted on this site. Nothing is requested from Facebook, TikTok or any other service until you press play.

I have been to Siargao before, according to my caption. In the video I say that at weekends Liloy is fully packed.

Best thing about this place is that there’s no foreigner in compare to the Siargao that you know.
From my TikTok video, 8 October 2026

If you want it quieter, go on a weekday rather than at the weekend.
