Boracay runs on two seasons rather than a single wet/dry split: Amihan (roughly October-March), calmer on White Beach and the busier, pricier half of the year, and Habagat (roughly April-September), windier on the east side and generally quieter and cheaper.

Best time to visit: Amihan or Habagat

Season Months Conditions
Amihan October–March Calmer seas on White Beach, the busier and pricier half of the year
Habagat April–September Windier on the east side (Bulabog), generally quieter and cheaper, more rain

Habagat’s wind is also what makes it kiteboarding season at Bulabog Beach, see things to do in Boracay for current lesson pricing, so the “quieter” season isn’t a dead one, it just suits a different activity than White Beach swimming.

Put together, a dorm-bed day with a basic island-hopping tour lands around ₱1,900-3,000 per person, roughly $33-53 at current exchange rates, plus about ₱500-550 in arrival boat fees on day one only. Swap in Ariel’s Point instead and the same day rises to roughly ₱3,500-5,600, since that package already bundles lunch and equipment.

Two or three days, not one

Island hopping and Ariel’s Point are each sold as their own activity day, so fitting both plus a settling-in day needs at least three days, as laid out in a 3-day Boracay itinerary. Things to do in Boracay covers lower-cost half-day add-ons (Mount Luho, D’Mall) if you have a spare few hours.

Before you book

Book accommodation further ahead for Amihan season, especially the December-January holidays and Easter, when hostel and hotel rates both rise. A session with me is the fastest way to ask how a Boracay budget fits into a wider Visayas trip.

Questions people ask

What is the best time of year to visit Boracay?

Amihan season, roughly October to March, brings calmer seas on White Beach and is also the busiest and most expensive stretch. Habagat season, roughly April to September, is windier on the east side (good for kiteboarding at Bulabog) and generally quieter and cheaper.

What is the cheapest time to visit Boracay?

Within Habagat season (April-September), outside the short Easter/Holy Week spike, accommodation rates tend to be lowest since this is Boracay's lower-demand half of the year.

How much does a day in Boracay cost?

A budget day of a hostel dorm bed, local food and a basic island-hopping tour comes to roughly ₱1,900-3,000, before the one-time arrival boat fees of about ₱500-550 on day one. Swap in Ariel's Point instead of island hopping and that day rises to roughly ₱3,500-5,600.

Is Boracay expensive compared to other Philippine beach destinations?

Generally yes, it's one of the more developed and internationally known beach destinations in the Philippines, which shows up in accommodation and activity pricing above backpacker-focused islands like Siquijor or Southern Leyte.

Do prices in Boracay go up in peak season?

Yes, most visibly during Amihan season (October-March) and especially the December-January holidays and Easter, when hostel and hotel rates both rise and rooms sell out further ahead.

How many days should I budget for Boracay?

Three days, as laid out in a 3-day Boracay itinerary, covers settling in, one day of island hopping and Puka Beach, and one day combining Ariel's Point with a sunset paraw sail.
