Things to Do in Boracay Beyond the Boat Tours

Island hopping, Ariel’s Point and the sunset paraw sail cover most of what fills an organised Boracay day, but three more things to do sit outside those boat tours: the view from Mount Luho, kiteboarding at Bulabog Beach, and an evening at D’Mall.

Mount Luho: the island’s one proper viewpoint

Boracay’s highest point, reached by tricycle or rented motorbike, with a view over the whole island including both White Beach and Bulabog Beach from the same spot.

Bulabog Beach: kiteboarding on the windy side

Boracay is narrow enough that Bulabog, on the east coast, is a short walk from White Beach on the west, but the two couldn’t be more different: White Beach is sheltered, Bulabog catches the wind that makes it one of Asia’s known kiteboarding spots.

Kiteboarding season (roughly November to April, when the wind is most reliable) is also Boracay’s dry season, so it tends to line up with the island’s peak months anyway.

D’Mall: the evening you’ll probably have regardless

The main pedestrian strip of restaurants, bars and shops between Stations 1 and 2. No entrance fee, nothing to book, and most visitors pass through it most evenings whether or not it was on the plan.

Fitting these around the boat tours

None of the three need a tour-boat booking. See Boracay island hopping, Puka Beach and Ariel’s Point and a sunset paraw sail for the organised activity days, and a 3-day Boracay itinerary for how a Mount Luho or Bulabog half-day could slot in.

Where to stay for this

Station 2 puts you closest to D’Mall; Bulabog-side accommodation suits anyone prioritising kiteboarding over White Beach itself. Where to stay in Boracay compares the stations.

Before you go

Mount Luho and D’Mall need no booking at all. A kiteboarding lesson is worth arranging a day ahead in peak wind season, when schools can fill up. For what a day of this plus a bed and food adds up to, see Boracay: best time to visit and what a trip costs. A session with me is the fastest way to ask how these fit around a wider Boracay trip.

Questions people ask

What is there to do in Boracay besides island hopping and Ariel's Point?

Three land-based things: the view from Mount Luho, kiteboarding at Bulabog Beach on the island's windier east side, and D'Mall, the main strip of shops and restaurants most visitors end up walking through most evenings anyway.

How much does it cost to visit Mount Luho?

₱120 per person entrance, open 7am to 6pm. It's Boracay's highest point and the only proper island-wide viewpoint, reached by tricycle or rented motorbike.

How much does kiteboarding cost at Bulabog Beach?

A one-hour guided introduction runs roughly ₱1,750-4,800 depending on the school, and a structured multi-level course (IKO-certified, with equipment) starts from around ₱10,000 for a Level 1 Discovery course. Prices vary more between schools here than at a government-set attraction.

Why is kiteboarding on the east side of Boracay instead of White Beach?

Bulabog Beach catches the wind that White Beach, on the sheltered west side, doesn't, which is exactly what kiteboarding and windsurfing need. The two beaches are a short walk apart across the island's narrow width.

Is D'Mall worth visiting if I'm not shopping?

Most visitors end up there anyway, it's the main strip of restaurants, bars and shops between Stations 1 and 2, and a normal part of an evening on Boracay rather than a dedicated sightseeing stop.

What's the best time of day to do Mount Luho?

Any time between 7am and 6pm, its posted opening hours. Go early if you'd rather be back before the day's main activity.
