Coron’s two signature stops, Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon, come as one package: the shared Tour A boat. The WWII shipwrecks are a different trip entirely, sold by dive shops rather than tour boats, and need a certification most Tour A passengers don’t have. Here’s what each one actually involves and costs.

Tour A: Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon by boat

The standard shared group tour out of Coron town, usually covering Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, CYC Beach and a shallow wreck stop like Skeleton Wreck. Kayangan Lake is the hike-up, swim-down lagoon on Coron Island itself, often called one of the cleanest lakes in Asia. Twin Lagoon is a swim-through between two connected lagoons, one saltwater and one a cooler freshwater layer you feel as you swim down.

Boats leave the town pier in the morning, with a buffet lunch usually cooked on one of the stops. Snorkelling gear is sometimes included and sometimes a small rental add-on, worth confirming with your operator.

Shipwreck diving: a separate trip

Coron’s WWII Japanese shipwrecks, Skeleton Wreck and the Lusong Gunboat among the better-known ones, are sold as their own dive-shop trip, not a stop on the group snorkeling tour. A typical day is 2 to 3 guided dives with tanks, weights, a guide, boat and lunch included. You need open-water certification or deeper for most of the wrecks; a few dive shops offer an introductory dive at a shallower site for non-certified divers.

Barracuda Lake: an add-on for divers

A separate lake stop, known for a sharp temperature change as you descend, more commonly added to a diving day than the Tour A snorkeling itinerary. It carries its own per-diver charge on top of a dive package.

Questions people ask

What is included in Coron's Tour A island hopping?

A shared group boat tour that typically covers Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, CYC Beach and a shallow wreck stop such as Skeleton Wreck, with boat transport, a licensed guide, a buffet lunch and most entrance fees included, per tour listings checked 12 October 2026.

How much does Coron island hopping cost?

Group Tour A costs around ₱1,600-1,800 per person, a private boat roughly ₱7,000-15,000 depending on boat size. A mandatory environmental fee of ₱200-300 and a small terminal fee are usually charged on top. Prices per tour listings checked 12 October 2026.

Is there a separate entrance fee for Kayangan Lake?

Kayangan Lake has its own ₱300 entrance fee, which covers life jacket use, a local guide at the lake and a conservation fee for the Tagbanua community who manage Coron Island. On a group Tour A booking this is usually already folded into the tour price rather than paid separately at the site.

How much does shipwreck diving cost in Coron?

A full day of guided wreck diving, commonly 3 dives, costs around ₱5,500 per person at Pirates Diving Center, including tanks, weights, guide, boat and lunch. Equipment rental adds roughly ₱800 a day. Rates checked 12 October 2026; prices vary between dive shops.

Do I need to be a certified diver to see the Coron shipwrecks?

To dive them properly, yes, most are WWII wrecks sitting at depths that need open-water certification or deeper. Some operators offer an introductory or discover dive for non-certified divers at a shallower wreck, ask your dive shop directly what that covers.

Is Barracuda Lake part of the standard island hopping tour?

Not usually, Barracuda Lake is a separate stop, more commonly added to a diving day than to the standard Tour A snorkeling itinerary, and carries its own ₱300 per-diver charge on top of a dive package.

Can I do Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and a shipwreck dive in one day?

Not comfortably. Tour A (Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon) is a full snorkeling day by boat, and shipwreck diving is sold separately by dive shops with its own boat and schedule. Most itineraries give each its own day.
