Three days in El Nido is enough to settle in, get Tour A’s lagoons in on one full day, and spend the last day on Tour C’s longer, more remote route, without trying to squeeze in all four tours.

Day 1: arrive and settle in

Fly in direct to El Nido or via Puerto Princesa and the 5 to 6 hour van, full breakdown in how to get to El Nido from Manila. Arriving by afternoon leaves time to walk the town, eat, and book Day 2’s Tour A through your accommodation or a tour desk.

Day 2: Tour A, the Big and Small Lagoons

El Nido’s signature day. A shared group boat covering the Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Shimizu Island and Seven Commando Beach, full pricing and route detail in Tour A, B, C and D compared. Boats leave the town pier in the morning with a cooked lunch on one of the stops.

Your first tour day is also when you pay El Nido’s Eco-Tourism Development Fee (ETDF), ₱400 per tourist, collected once and valid for 10 days, covering every island-hopping tour you take in that window. Keep the receipt, it’s your proof for Tour C two days later.

Day 3: Tour C, the long route

Tour C runs the furthest out into the Bacuit archipelago, Matinloc Shrine, Secret Beach and Helicopter Island, more boat time than Tour A but fewer other boats out that far. Same page as above for pricing and what’s included.

Questions people ask

Is 3 days enough for El Nido?

Yes, for the two most-wanted tours: settling in on day 1, Tour A (Big and Small Lagoons) on day 2, and Tour C (Secret Beach, Matinloc Shrine) on day 3. It leaves Tour B and D for a return trip or a longer stay.

Which tours should I prioritise in 3 days in El Nido?

Tour A first, it covers the Big and Small Lagoons, El Nido's two most photographed stops. Tour C second, it has the longest route and furthest-out scenery, see El Nido island hopping for what each of the four tours covers.

Should I do Tour A or Tour C on day 2?

Tour A, most visitors want the lagoons early rather than risk running out of time for them. Tour C's longer boat time and more remote stops make it a good second-day tour once you know the pace of a full day on the water.

Where should I base myself for this itinerary?

El Nido town if you want the easiest tour mornings and a short walk to the pier, see where to stay in El Nido for how town compares to Corong-Corong and Lio.

Do I need to book Tour A and Tour C in advance?

A day or two ahead is safer, especially in peak season (roughly December to April), book through your accommodation or a tour desk in town once you've arrived.

How do I get to El Nido to start this itinerary?

Either a flight to El Nido's own airport from Clark (no longer from Manila since March 2026), about 1 hour 35 minutes, or a flight to Puerto Princesa followed by a 5 to 6 hour van, see how to get to El Nido from Manila for the full breakdown.

Is there an environmental fee for island hopping in El Nido?

Yes, the Eco-Tourism Development Fee (ETDF), ₱400 per tourist. It's collected once, on your first tour day, and the receipt covers every island-hopping tour you take over the following 10 days, so you don't pay it again for Tour C.
